I was disappointed in the blistered "chrome" on the hood vents, and these were marked down significantly. I'm not that enamored of chrome, but a few bright accents on a dark car is OK. I'll need to get used to the dark/dark look.

And then, I got a little carried away. To be fair, it was an irresistible Black Friday deal (although still more than I should have spent). It was a little "retail therapy" during COVID times.

The part number is T2R5391. I got it from Rimmer Bros. in England. They were mentioned in the thread on carbon fiber engine covers that were deeply discounted.

I ordered the hood and fender vents initially, wanting to see how the transaction went. They were easy to work with and shipped promptly, so I made another order for the mirror covers. That's when I went a little crazy, but at the closeout pricing plus Black Friday discount I decided to go for it. Shipping was expensive for the oversize package ($190US) but again, it came quickly. Mine was missing the towing eye cover, which is not available separately. They kicked back a few quid to make my fabrication of one a little easier. I'm very happy with their service.

They've noted that when their supplier shows no more in stock on the closeout parts, that'll be it.

Thanks for the info. Getting these parts from UK to Denmark should be possible with the Brexit deal apparently being in place. These bits look all really nice but pricy, even discounted.

Yes, pricey even discounted is an accurate assessment. I've refueled only four times since the stay-at-home order came in and was feeling a little needy. I've been working at least full time, and when I asked myself if I was worth it, I came up with the answer I was hoping for.

The OEM tow eye cover is about $300 Australian from memory. Probably cheaper to fabricate one even if the OEM fit. I had to get one for the v8 diffuser as the one from my v6 wouldnt fit it.

The kit looks good.

Ouch. I shaved down the top of the standard one in the hopes it would fit, but it didn't. Oops! I had no idea I was messing with something so valuable.

I found a supplier of quality carbon fiber that has a 6" square of 3mm twill weave, gloss finish for $39US, so will go with that. I'll have plenty left over in case I need to try a few times before I get the weave lined up to my satisfaction. I don't want to bond it directly to the diffuser, but have some ideas for attachment. One more project to put in the queue.

The rear tow eye is not for towing or vehicle recovery, presumably only for tie-down while shipping. So covering it up wouldn’t be the end of the world.

Looking at the angle of it I see that it's for holding the rear in place while shipping. If significant horizontal force were applied it would likely cause some expensive damage.

I am thinking of attaching in a removable way more for consideration of the ludicrously expensive diffuser.

Beautiful. I can't think of a more classic combination that BRG with a tan or buckskin colored leather interior. I really like those seats, the new stitching pattern on the 2021 models with the quilted pattern stitching around the vent below the headrest and on the door panels is not very attractive in my opinion.

I've got a similar color combo (BRG/camel), but I really like the punched leather on those seats.

Gorgeous! ( I have BRG also, so maybe biased) Did you do it yourself or have it done? I ask because I see your location is Virginia. I'm in northern VA and am budgeting to have this done in the Spring and would much prefer to use a business with solid references. Considering PPF after that.

That's beautiful Lizard. I like working on my cars. Unfortunately, cars have gotten so complicated that there isn't a lot that you can do yourself anymore. So that leaves giving them a loving hand wash and detail job on a regular basis just to "bond with" the vehicle.
When my new 2021 F Type arrives I plan on giving it a DIY ceramic paint treatment. Tell us what you used.
