My car found her Mom (Grandma?) on Mother's Day... seemed appropriate. It's amazing how cars have grown over time, the F-Type looks enormous next to the E-Type.
Cockpit is cozy in the old E Types and the absence of airbags is disconcerting. I used to love the E-Type styling, now the thin tires look funny to me. The Series 3 convertibles look great on fatter tires, and the Series 1 cars are beautiful classics - but they are no longer in the league of modern sports cars. Thank you JLR for giving us the F-Type, the modern successor to the E and a Porsche-eating Sports car.
A convertible on the track with the top up looks weird to me. Is there any advantage to that? I would think for CG and visibility, you'd want it down. In race form, the top would have been tossed along with the interior gutting.

It's not so much the advantage but the rules... The group I was running with that night was point-by passing only hence having the windows open. Conversely, the top wasn't also allowed to be down so I ran in the way it was.

That is the color I was originally looking for. I couldn't find one with IRR, so I settled for Polaris White, which was my second choice. But after seeing a few IRR cars in the sun, I find that IRR appeals to me more. I may end up doing a full body wrap in that color (or a similar dark red metallic) at some point in the future.
I finaly picked up my "new to me" 2015 R in Germany on tuesday and drove it home 1.100km - in pouring rain and hard gusty Winds. It was still my best drive in any car ever
After a quick wash when I got home (after some 12 hours on the road - and the seats are great with good comfort by the way), I went out to drive some more. The weather had gotten better, so I managed to take a few pics before the sun went down.
