Default Oil Leak

This is just a FYI.
When I changed my oil a couple of weeks ago I noticed the bottom of the Engine covered with oil. It appeared to be coming from the front of the Engine. To the dealer it went. The timing chain cover was found to be leaking and this was repaired with the Liquid gasket. I hope this was all. My thought was the front oil seal, but I guess that it was only the timing chain cover needed reseal. (Fingers Crossed).
Thankful that I still have the CPO to take care of this. I agree with those who state "Don't buy this car without a warranty" I have no idea what this would have cost, but I guess it would not have been cheap. Probably a simple DIY but it would take some to get to the cover. BTW the car has 44K on the odo.

Also for those that do the vac to change the oil from the top. Don't forget to get under the car and take at least the cover off that is over the oil pain and check for leaks. I would have never known if I had done the oil change from the top as no oil was dripping on the garage floor, stayed in the cover. The oil gauge never budged so no help from the silly oil meter. (God how I miss a old fashioned dip stick.) I have the V6 base for those reading this on their phone.

I broke down with charging system fault.
It turned out that oil had leaked from the timing chain cover and destroyed the alternator.
I’m not the only one to have had this happen.
You were lucky to save the alternator.

Sounds like this may be more common than I thought. Ya, glad the alternator didn't get involved.
