A route similar to that outlined below would offer numerous stretches of spirited driving -- even in well-populated Orange County -- while also traversing some of the regions more scenic roads...
Could start anywhere along this route...
- I started at Park Place Center in Irvine (the one time Fluor property),
- Traveling North along Jamboree Road (avoiding the Toll Road) to Santiago Canyon Rd.,
- To Cooks Corner, though Live Oak Canyon and O'Neill Park, to Antonio Pkwy.
- To Ortega Hwy, by Mission San Juan Capistrano, following Del Obispo into Dana Point Harbor,
- then North-West along Coast Hwy. through Laguna and Corona Del Mar,
- and back to Irvine via Turtle Rock... 2.5 hours without stops.
Minimal traffic if we wrapped up before noon, could even grab a quick early lunch in Dana Point Harbor, at which point those coming from the south may choose to break off and head home. Those from the north would follow up the coast, then trek toward the frwy. depending on time allowed.
^^^ That's a pretty good route and pretty much what I had in mind as well. It is also a good middle spot for the guys that would be coming down from LA and up from SD.

You've pretty much outlined my motorcycle ride route as I live in Anaheim Hills. My only suggestion is to reverse the route as the coast gets exceedingly crowded in the summer as the day progresses. Plus, the best views are from the south bound Lanes on PCH.

Along the coast before noon on a Sunday morning would not be too bad. No matter what, the coastal leg of that route is more a cruise than a rally.
Imagine a dozen F-Types all crawling though an active Main Beach Laguna together, with exhaust notes on full "angry growler" mode.

How about Malibu Canyon Road and up Mulholand then down either Latigo Canyon or Kanan Dume to the PCH then stop in Mailbu. Could you imagine the sound of 20 F-types gassing it in Malibu Canyon tunnel? Yeeehaw!
If you can wait until the 22nd/23rd I can join. Although I'm not an F-Type so not sure I'm invited
Yea, same here guys, sorry cant make July 16 weekend, can make the next weekend, impossible to get everyone on same weekend. Catch you next time. looks like your going to have an excellent turnout.

We could possibly do the 22 or 23 if it means a bigger F-Type turnout?
