Default Out with the XKR...

Went for a test drive yesterday and my new baby graced my garage last night... I did so love the XKR but hell man - it's not remotely the same ride...

How different from the XKR is it? Give us your review of the car.

Not enough driving yet, weather is sucking here...it handles like a cross of that insulated feeling if the SL 55 and a 911 turbo...with the cracking baffle bypassing Ferrari...that's my short version. More to come this weekend!

I don't know how to post the album - but here's a few photos and descriptions as to what you're looking at https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/m...105819-albums/

It's a damn beast! Literally the shortest test drive I've ever had - Power, performance, and comfort nicer than the XKR - If Mercedes went after the 911 I believe this would be the car - but Jag blew both out of the water with the design and features - I don't believe it will do what a 911 Turbo S would do (its been compared) but if you take the SL 55 AMG and a 911 S - this car would be it's perfect rival- at $105k all in

Congrats on the new Jag!

I looked at them too. For my needs I actually preferred the XKR-S convertible but only because I found a low mile used one for about the same price as the F-Type V8S.

But...I don't believe you can go wrong with either choice! I'll probably have one, one day.

Totally with you there - XKR-S 100k even - 2013 in that French Blue - coup tho - with 6 year warranty - likely had .9% financing as well - tempting - you made a good choice!

Actually mine isn't certified, as I bought it at a Mercedes dealership. I think to be certified you have to buy it through a Jaguar dealer. But, it still has the remainder of the original warranty plus the platinum service program...MSRP was $140,825 and I picked it up for $95,000 with a little over 6000 miles...I think that was a great deal. Otherwise I was looking at the F-Type, R8, Aston, GTR. Decided I really wanted a convertible again so that helped narrow it down some. XKR-S was a no brainer at that price. F-Type V8S is nice too. Oh and Navy Federal Credit Union considered it a new car, so I got 1.9% for 72 months. I never keep a loan longer than a year or two before I pay it off, but its nice to use their money for a while instead of mine...
