Default P2187 code

So I removed the plastic piece that blocks the air flow from the bottom vents and added an aluminum sheet with holes to prevent pebbles from hitting the intake filters. Now my ECU thinks it’s running lean (p2187) cus of the extra air flow, no it’s not acting funny or driving rough nothing performance wise is wrong. I have new injectors & plugs/ coils so it’s not that either. Just curious should I get a tune adjustment or reset the ECU so it can relearn the new air to fuel ratio?

That code is not from you modifying your grille, it is something else. Check for vacuum leaks, cracked intake tubes, dirty MAF sensor. A tune is not the answer. Any other codes along with the p2187? Could also be O2 sensors going out, but usually the car picks up on those and throws a code.

Agree with bfrank1972. You have no idea about the air flow and assuming some mods increased it is a mistake. Without measuring anything that is all a hope and a guess. Same with adding cone filters and removing the factory intake ducting.

I would track down the code and see what's wrong first. Maybe go back to stock just in case?
Remember FIRST do a search of the forum on your problem. Hopefully what you have has been reported before and that will lead you to the solution. If not I would post to one of the existing threads that is the closest to what your car is doing.

Here is a search of just the F-Type forum with 4 hits. Take a look and read all 4! If no help expand your search to all Jaguar models.

Hi @SuperchargedFresh ,

Wanted to give you some thoughts on this. It looks like you've started another thread that might not appear to be the same issue, but I think it is.

I am going to go over to the other thread re: E85 tune and suggest some things there. I've done a few E85 tunes on other platforms, there are some basics that are important to know about ethanol, especially if it is the majority of your fuel mix.
