I received my F-Type back today after having a full ceramic coating and a paint protection film applied to the front end, full hood & rear quarter panels. The work was done by Glasslife Atlanta and the car looks totally awesome, even better in person and the pics don't do the carbon fiber roof justice.


Colin's team did a great job on this project, I have attached some of my favorite pictures. I really can't wait to start driving this car, hopefully we get some nice weather soon in Georgia.

Your car looks great. What type of film and ceramic coating did they use? I think that Jaguar should add black emblems to the black pack. I thought that you partially debadged your car because I didn't see f-type when looking at the thumbnail of the rear of your car. The chrome blended in with the silver. Black letters would provide contrast.

 

Thanks for the positive comments. The ceramic coat was done with Ceramic Pro 9H and custom in house top coat, the paint protection film was done with Speedfilm. I will need to look into the black letters, it would create some nice contrast.

 

I live in So. CA. I had my car detailed and after it was done began to notice small scratches in the paint. Much like you I decided to bring the car and have a ceramic coating applied. All towel related scratches were gone. But, I enjoy washing my car and bought a pressure washer and foam applicator. I don't touch the car unless absolutely necessary. I have very thick, sof5 Microfiber towels if I need to touch the car. The only downside is using distilled, or R.O. water to elevate water spots which are a problem with the ceramic coating.

 

Looks great, thanks for posting. I'm thinking about doing with on my car. Any reason to use the Ceramic Pro over Opti-Coat or any of the other ones out there? Or is that just what that shop uses?
How does the film look? I don't want to lose any of the spectacularity (is that a real word?) of the Sapphire Blue, i.e, is it not noticeable or looks like the plastic on grandma's couch? (lol) I'm potentially contemplating a full body clear wrap...

I also chose to have a paint correction done on my f type as well because of the same scratches you stated. Being in SO. CA as well, I took the car to Wicked Detail by S.N.A. They did a great job using ceramic coating. I don't know how the other coatings are, but I'm happy with the ceramic coating. The first time washing with a power washer, I used tap water to wet the car, applied the soap. I than rinsed with tap water and used distilled water as a final rinse. I saw several water marks, used a thick soft microfiber towel, wet it with distilled water and gently applied it to the water spots. It didn't remove all the spots. I've come to realize the best way to wash the car is use tap water to wet and soap the car. Use distilled water to rinse. Drive the car a few minutes and it should be spot free.
