Yep. If you want the backup camera, you get the power tailgate.

It's good to know that in the US market Jaguar are striving to address common misconceptions about the age and physical competence of their target market.

Albeit by reinforcing them.

Powered tailgate, glass roof, suede, Vision Pack (duh) .... all get a YES.

Treadplates, Incontrol - thumbs DOWN.

The tailgate is a useless gimmick and waste of money if you have a functional arm. I would have preferred saving the weight and money, but had to take it to get the Vision pack, all of which I really like.

You are the F-Type god and normally I would agree but I'm a geek and pushing a button from afar while carrying 2lbs of groceries helps to announce 'yes that's my car' hahaha.

Remote start on the fob is probably the only option I would have really liked to have, hands down.

Have to agree with you on this Burt, besides having the cool factor that enhances the cars great looks, the convenience of the no hands is a feature I use all the time. I often travel with another person to presentations, meetings, etc. I can or they can remote open the trunk with projectors, bags, etc in both hands with out banging or having that stuff touch the back of the car. Remote close even better when you drop someone off, they can get out, grab their things without having to touch your car or fumble with closing the trunk and scratching your paint. Did I say it was cool?

Don't understand why all the hate with this option...?

I ordered it and think it's cool...use it all the time.

Best suited for a delivery van (aka SUV), not a sports car.

Love it specifically for keeping my passengers filthy mitts off my paint. If I could get a power passenger door I'd buy that too.

Tom Hiddleston "Art of Villany" sold me on the powered tail gate. Totally cool to remote open the back as you approach with the leather valise full of cash and then close it again.
Don't understand the point of the engine cover in stock or carbon fiber: why does anyone have to open the bonnet on these cars? Pointless...

must for me, didn't think twice

much easier to click the trunk open button while walking up to the car, then have it auto close as you walk to the drivers door

also, who wants finger prints all over the trunk lid

my f80 m3 doesn't have auto close, so i bought a kit to convert it, perfect

Rather than argue with a purist, especially a respected one, it's a shame this car can't be ordered in a more true sports car version. When car mfrs do allow for this, they want a bloody fortune. I'd need to get rid of many of my cars features to get closer to being a true sports car. That option left the building with most manufacturers wanting to sell to a broader audience and then sticking it to the enthusiastic few true sports car afficiando's with special models. I hope you can get you SVR the way you want it, without selling your house. While I would like to have a car closer to true sports car at times (lighter particularly), I'm the broader audience that's screwing up the works.

I'm not certain it's an issue of being a purist so much as one of my jeans being too tight to reach into my pocket for the remote key. It's just so much easier to just walk up to the car and open the hatch (or in this case, push the trunk lid button). The annoying part is having to wait for the lid to slowly open when a manual hatch opens almost instantaneously. These are all first world problems, not worthy of any consternation (but somebody brought it up).

You could argue the merits or otherwise of opening but pushing the close button is a winner

I bought a loaded factory demo with the power tailgate. I thought it was dumb when I first saw it, but I've grown to love it.

To clarify: the remote does both open and close it.
