Default Purchase Help

Hey folks, Looking to purchase my first F-Type. I've been hunting for a V8S under 50k miles in a more muted color for ~$40k. Been a harder hunt than expected, but I finally found one that fit most of my requirements in AZ. My only concern is that it doesn't have the performance package. Can one of you help me understand what I'm giving up there? I know I'm giving up the cool seats, but after reading a few threads on here, I've made my peace with that. Here are my major concerns:

1. How much does the custom dynamic mode option matter? It seems like it still has a dynamic mode switch, so I assume it still has some kind of performance mode. What am I giving up in that regard?
2. From what I can find, the exhaust button/quiet loud mode is part of the performance package, but this one appears to also have that button despite none of the other performance pack options. Was this also an a la carte option? Or do the non-performance pack cars handle that button differently?
3. I've noticed it does not have the red calipers. Is there a difference in the brakes or is it just paint?

Thanks in advance!

Do you have a link to the car? I promise I'm not trying to buy it out from under you! A VIN would allow someone to pull the TOPIX and you'd get to see exactly what is spec'd. In my experience, listings often are not very accurate will all options and trims even at Jaguar dealers. The one I bought ended up having extended leather, switchable active exhaust, and 770W surround stereo even though it wasn't listed in the ad.

The custom dynamics allow you to turn off the dynamic mode on steering, gearshift, suspension and engine so not true tailoring. The exhaust switch I don't find that useful either, in dynamic mode you get the valves open all the time anyway, and in non-dynamic you can open the valves earlier (below around 4000 rpm), but I'm not convinced the extra noise is worthwhile if you're in D.

IMHO the custom dynamics is something you will play with a while say to yourself cool and then never touch it again.

It does have timer, G-force, and brake and throttle displays, though, which I assume aren't available if you don't have the configurable option? Correction as necessary welcome!

Pretty much: I found settings I like early on, and haven't revisited them since.

Southwest US, but for the right one, I’d fly just about anywhere.

I found my 2014 S V8 on cargurus.com.
Carvana also keeps a good selection.

My car is configured like the one you are looking at. Mine does have the exhaust button which is useful for scaring children but little else. I think the brakes are the same- they are the same size as the red ones just is black. Don't believe I am missing anything with the configurable dynamics, but wouldn't mind the displays mentioned.

For those playing along at home, I picked it up and I (obviously) love it. Drove it 700 miles home and it ran flawless.
