Question for 17” and 18” v8 onwers about active exhaust
I’ve driven my 17" SVR in over two weeks, and when I got back into its last weekend, its exhaust seems to have changed.
The bark/rumble at 2-4k rpm is not as aggressive as what I’ve remember the last time I drove the car. Visual inspection shown that both valve (on the outer pipes of the quad) are open when the car is on (even when it’s off). Maybe my ears are deceiving me, but in those range, the exhaust now sounds muffled, as if I’m listening in to a conversation through a wall.
The machine guns pops are still there so it’s not a software issue. Switching back and forth between the Exhaust on button and the Dynamics button yields no difference in tone at idle either.
On my 14 v8s, there was a noticeable cage when the exhaust on or dynamics button is pressed vs. when they were not. However, I read somewhere on the forum that the later years F-type always have the valve open so there’ no defense in sound.
Can a 17” or 18” owner confirm that you don’t hear any differences (at idle) when you hit the exhaust button or dynamic button on your car?
The car is running strong other with no other symptoms.

In my (early) MY18 R AWD there's definitely a difference in exhaust loudness at idle - in dynamic the valves are open at tickover but with the exhaust switch active in non-dynamic mode the valves don't open until around 1500 rpm. Crackles and pops seem unaffected either way.
