Question Question about interior choice .....

Hi guys,
I have a week or so to finalize my choice for interior seats. The exterior I've selected in charcoal grey. I'm considering getting the duede interior package. Is there any downside to getting the duede over the leather. You guys probably know the truthful answer to this question. Also, is it possible so I can get the car with red color seat belts and the seats are either suede or black leather. My salesman tells me no, its not doable for this combination. I think the red seat belts would give the interior a more sporty appearance over black seat belts. Plus it will compliment the red brake calipers too. Please let me know what you know and share your thoughts. Thank you very much!

Red seat belts are available with any interior combination, at least on the R model.

I'm pretty sure the seatbelts are a completely separate option. Try configuring it online and it'll confirm it.
My advice is to go for red/black leather. It looks good on most colors, but it is especially attractive with the grey ext imo.

Default Stealth & hardwired ....

Thank you for you replies . for me the red seat combination us a bit much. That's why I only want the belts to be red. Stealth can you confirm I can choose red seat belts. Online builder didn't give me the option to pick seat belt color. Thank you

you have to select the performance seats (or a package that includes them) to engage the seatbelt selection (at least for the S i chose). here is the configurator photo:

here is a real picture of my seats (red stitching) with the red seatbelts

Unhappy Gregg ...

Interesting ....
But you can not do that when ordering the R Type 2016 model. I checked again, and I don't see what you pointed out. Why ?

You cannot select the performance seats on the R model because they come standard with them. Not everything is available on line.

I think TXJagR is saying the dealer will be able to make the seat belt selections for you, but the online configuration isn't set up that way for R models

I'd definitely check again and have him check with his sales manager as well as check with another dealership if you still don't get the answer your want.

I'm just finishing up buying my R (going to get it tomorrow ) and in the process have dealt with a few different dealerships, two of which insisted that basically everything I asked for was impossible and one that made it happen. Hell, at one of the dealerships the guy even told me that he doesn't like Jaguars and isn't a car guy so that's why he isn't very knowledgeable...

Default Wow ...

That's pretty shocking , remarks made by salesman and he gets to keep his job there? That's damaging to the dealership to say the least . yes .... I'll most certainly speak with the sales guy again, management too. If they can't accommodate me, I'll go to a different Jag dealership.
I don't think my request to have red seat belts is so difficult to do or impossible to make it happen especially since its going to be built at factory.
Thank you kindly!

One other option (since the factory does have same strange rules) is to have the dealer's parts department order the red seat belts and install them prior to you picking up your car.

Ultimately, you probably don't care how the red seat belts get there, just that they do.

On-line configuration tool is not 100% accurate. Options are generally grouped into packages - my dealer said you can order up pretty much anything a la carte, the dealer has books and codes for everything (and the dealer materials can be incomplete or wrong). Sometimes the factory will kickback an order with a combination of options they just can't build - but you can escalate to Jaguar SVO and might get a custom configuration.
I want a USA spec Jaguar XF Shootingbrake - dealer offered to work with me and the factory if I was serious. I think we killed the project when it turned out the rear lights for the wagon did not meet USA DOT spec from any market served by Jaguar.

Thumbs up Very good insight guys ...

If need be, I'll try to compel the dealership to install the red belts. Your right, u don't care who or how its done, as long as they get it done.
Thank you...

1) From recent posts, you may not be able to order a 2016, only a 2017.
2) The configurator is not always correct.

Good luck!

Yup. That was from me. And to cement that theory I've now heard the same from 3 different Midwest dealerships.

I ordered Performance Seats in suedecloth. That meant I could get them in any color I wanted, as long as it was Jet (black). I didn't look at seatbelt options. I did not even consider red seats, although a co-worker lusts after a white coupe with red leather. I told him I didn't want a bar of soap with a bordello interior. I can't remember his exact response, but I think it might have been of no practical value, even were it physically possible.

He's in line to get a Tesla Model X though, so we won't see the F-Type yin/yang in the parking lot anytime soon.
