In some threads there was a discussion about lighter wheels, forged our carbon fiber. Some of you were talking about wheels developed for the f type.
My question is: Must these wheels be custom made for the f type?
Why not use the carbon fiber wheels developed for a Porsche turbo for example? They have that 5-nut configuration as well.
Follow up question: How much lighter do the wheels need to be for it to make a 'significant' difference? I mean something that an inexperienced, but enthusiastic, driver would feel.

 

Just because they have the 5-bolt pattern doesn't mean the bolt pattern is the same. In this case, the 911 is 5 X 130 and F-Type is 5 x 108 (not even close). Moreover, the center-bore, and offsets are also completely off.

Yes, they'd have to be manufactured to F-Type specs, which at this point means they'd have to be custom made.

don't forget to budget for carbon/ceramic brakes, those iron rotors probably weigh as much as the wheels
