Rarest F-Type models by production numbers including manual transmisision
Just got notification of this 2018 6MT R-Dynamic that is for sale here in Canada. Given the debate above about "over paying" I won't even comment about the $107,000 (CAD) asking price. This one is oddly spec'd -- no moonroof on an R-dynamic? And no heated steering wheel or heated windshield either.... but, thankfully it does have the carbon fibre shifter.

Who is the source of the incorrect info?
I was going to wait for a 2019 manual R-Dynamic coupe, but just brought my 2017 S manual. Glad I did with those numbers. During the 4 months or so I was looking, I did see 2 or maybe 3 on the market. Only one was an R-Dynamic, but a convertible. It must have been the Loire Blue one.
One of the questions I get asked the most is which F-Types are the rarest, lowest produced, manuals production numbers or sales figures and things along those lines. Well thanks to Coronavirus lockdowns I have been able to work on projects this year including one that I started years ago of trying to curate the lowest produced F-Type models. Please note these numbers are for US. For most of the models listed below I have numbers/figures for most countries as well.
So here are the rarest F-Types in the US:
Model Production Numbers
2016 Project 7 43 - Yes 43. I know some sources and even auctions say 50 Project 7 for US but that is incorrect. There were 50 allocated to North America. 43 for US, 7 for Canada
2018 Manual 44
2019 Manual 45 - 1 stayed in the UK, so only 44 2019 manuals in the US
2018 SVR 50 - 42 remain registered in US. The other 8 have been totaled or are unaccounted for.
2019 SVR 71
2020 SVR 90
2017 BDE 300
2017 Manual 323
2018 400 Sport 338 - Interesting fact. There were also 338 produced for the UK
2017 SVR 467
2016 Manual 579-600 - This is in a range because I know I am missing 1 or 2 batches of pre-production F-Types. I will edit this later when I get a final tally.

I will look it up in my spreadsheet data tomorrow. Also BRG was a rather common color for 2016 manuals. Many of the F-Types custom ordered were BRG.

How rare is the convertible manual combo in 2016? ~135 - missing a few Pre-prod manuals and not sure if there were convertibles in them. Have to go back and go through those VINs eventuially.
How rare is the convertible BRG manual combo? ~ For 2016 ~ 11 Confirmed. There are also 15 manual convertibles for 2016 that I don't have the color for so there might more BRG among those.
How many manuals came to the US before mine? 18 US manual before yours not counting Early Pre-Production manuals used for testing/promotion that were eventually sold

Ftyperegistry,
I just purchased a 2016 F-Type R in Glacier White with blacked out trim and the Alcantara interior. Do you have any data on how rare the Alcantara interior is on FTR's? I searched for quite a while to find mine.
Thanks.

No I do not. No data on 2016s except for Project 7s and manuals.
In case anyone is looking for a 2019 manual F-Type the last manual convertible made is up for sale https://www.carmax.com/car/21704903
Ftyperegistry (or any other users),
I tried calling JLR NA Customer Service to find out if they knew the production numbers for F-Type R's equipped with the Suedecloth Interior Pack R (Alcantara) and, rather astonishingly, the person I spoke to recommended that I contact my local dealer for that information. Why a dealer would have production numbers and corporate wouldn't, I can't imagine, but I called the original dealer anyway. Of course they had no such information.
Does anybody on this forum know how I could go about finding that information? My impression is that my car is quite rare but I'd like to be able to substantiate that with some data.
By the way, I've noted that a lot of the press photos and videos of the F-Type R have the Alcantara interior as well as ceramic brakes. It's odd to me that two rare options were on the cars intended to form public opinion.

Hey I have just purchased a 2016 F-type R convertible with the suede interior with 14,000km. Last digits of the VIN are 26501. I was wondering if anyone knew how many R convertibles are in Canada?
Simplest way would be if some database guru could connect to the backend database used for Topix and filter for the suede value for the build info. The only other way would be for you to get an annual subscription on Topix and go through each VIN number and note the ones that have that option. As an FYI it is virtually impossible to get any production info from Jaguar. That’s why I had to go through the entire sequence on Topix and collect the VINs for SVRs, manuals, etc. Individually. Much easier before the Topix system was changed/limited.
That's short-sighted on Jaguar's part. That kind of information helps to maintain interest within their enthusiast base which adds value to their brand.
I have sorted through VIN data in the past for a different brand, but it was only 1,519 cars and I had the VIN data on paper. I'll look into Topix. Thanks for the response ftyperegistry.
