Not for the moment, the F is still at the garage and between covid period, summer holidays it is not very progressed.
i plan to visit the garage at my holiday ending, I will get more infos...
i know the garage ordered the 2 roof motors months ago But delivery was complicated with the covid...

 

I am sensitive to water in the top storage area since I had the issue with a Boxster so it was an early question for the dealer when I bought my 2017 recently. The dealer was no help. But I have found the drain holes; I would say they are accessible with difficulty. I can just get my fingers there to pull out debris and fortunately I have access to an air compressor to blow out the drain tube.
Put the top about 2/3 of the way down, about even with the roll bars, and slide your fingers down as in the picture. I am pointing to the drain hole on the driver’s side.

Well I went and checked mine and one side had a couple of leaves in that area so I got those out of there. No water was in the area so none were clogged. I tired to put a piece of wire down the whole to make sure it wasn’t clogged or obstructed but the wire would not go all the way down due to bends in the channel I suspect. Might need a stiffer wire and a drain snake it to wide a gauge for the tube despite the very top opening being wider. While they are not the easiest to get at its not an insurmountable problem and a very narrow vacuum tool will get stuff out quite easily.

Well, i just get mine back home.
the mechanic will send me pictures of the intervention soon, i will post them here. But the 2 motors were corrroded, and a bit of the electric cables were changed also.
The intervention was very long difficult, and both my jaguar specialist and the main dealer were involved on the repair.
I have been confirmed that the system is not made to be cleaned. Completely idiot. The draining holes out seems to be hidden under the sideskirts (i have the V8 ones). i didnt had the opportunity to put the car on the level up machine (sorry i dont know the english word) to check by mylself but i will soon, to see with my own eyes where they are (and follow Carbuff advices with painting the braces).

 

We'd call it a "lift".

 

I just wanted to register on here and help others as I washed my f type convertible, out it in garage, week later when I started it message came up, roof unlocked , don’t go over 30 mph. It wasn’t unlocked and after a few weeks found out that the drain holes were blocked.

took it to main dealer, waste of time, don’t do it , after 3 weeks they said they would need to break the roof off and a new roof would be 16 k. This is after 750 pounds to look at it. They had no idea what to do… I only took it there as I thought that they would be the ones to know, I was wrong, I should have known better. I looked on line and found Hoodtech in Chester, called them and they said they know how to get the roof down to access motors, no new roof needed, charlie there knows what he is doing. I get my car back this week. It was blocked drain holes. Charged about 1800 which is what I expected with 2 new motors, still a lot of money considering this car is kept in side all the time however I power washed the roof, I have smelled a little dampness in the car over the last year or so.

As a precaution against future blockage, would it be possible to enlarge the existing drain holes by drilling from the bottom? The issue seems to be blockage of the drain holes by debris - would larger holes permit occasional checking that they are clear?

 

im not sure if you can do this, no one has mentioned it, just need to keep the drains clear with compressed air

 

Stop the top when halfway down...Vacuum any leaves or debris FIRST off the drain holes. Picture, post 23.

The drains have tubing that exits under the car just in front of the rear chassis bracing. You might be able to back-flush the drains with compressed air, as mentioned. But you would STILL need to vacuum up any debris from the top side.

Anyone know how to stop your top from fully closing with Mods4Cars top module installed? I was going to check the drain in the top compartment area but I haven't figured out how to stop the top process mid-stream without removing the Mods4Cars.

In addition to allowing you to open/close the top with the remote, Mods4Cars provides a one-press (not hold) on the top button to fully open or close the top.

 

Yes, if rather than pushing and releasing the button, you continue to hold it, then when you release it, the roof should stop where it is without completing the operation. I do this for a number of reasons - vacuuming the carpeted area where the roof lives, when reproofing the roof (I close it almost all the way, but leave a bit of a gap at the leading edge, as I apply waterproofing with a brush), and now inspecting the drains.

You can also just disable it (put it in stealth mode) and the switch will return to normal function.

 

You can touch the control briefly, in either direction, and it will immediately stop. They state that this is a safety feature.
