Now that's cool!

One of the nice things about the F-Type (at least mine ) is how nice it smells both inside and on the outside. Both my previous XF 3.0 S/C and XFS also spread a really nice smell in the garage even years after they were new, but not quite as nice as the F-Type. Seems like most modern Jags just spread a nice scent and I got the impression that the petrol ones smell better than the diesels. The only exception was an XF 2.2D loaner I had a number of years ago which just didn't smell good outside. In cabin smell is part of a car's design for sure but I wonder how much effort is put into how a car smells on the outside.

Had a friend in the car this evening, with the top down. Opened the exhaust valves, used the paddles and throttle to get some nice pops and crackles. Smells like cordite.

Not really surprising - diesel's a filthy fuel - the fuel of the devil.

Funnily enough the XFS (= 3L diesel V6) I had at the time smelled really nice. That 2.2 loaner just smelled like some small cheap plasticky hatchback. Maybe it was because it was only a four banger.

I’ve had something similar happen with weird residual smells after detailing. What worked for me was spraying https://nothingbutscents.com/product...reshener-spray in the vents and letting the AC run for a few minutes. It knocked the scent out way quicker than I expected. I keep a can in the trunk just in case now.
