The dealer forgot to reset the maintenance countdown timer/odometer. There’s a thread somewhere on the forum that has the reset instructions.

Or else get yourself one of the better OBD2 code readers most of which can reset the "service due" indicator.
With a car like the F-Type a decent code reader is a must-have as all modern Jags throw codes at the drop of a hat.
I have an iCarsoft LR2, works great for a whole range of codes, readings, settings and resettings.

I haven't personally tried this out, but it appears this method may work also for the F-Type to reset the indicator without the need for an OBD reader.
I believe another user posted this back then:

If you try it out, let us know how it goes!

Yep, works the same way on the F-Type, see here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...vice+indicator

My independent reset the service indicator at my last service - I got no message about next service, but it didn't reset the "miles to next service" value. I used the following to reset that:

Turn on the ignition
Open the bonnet
Press the brake pedal and accelerator fully for 10 seconds
Turn off the ignition
Close the bonnet
Turn on the ignition
Service indicator should be reset

Thanks for the replies !
when I get back home I’ll try these out.

I might just take the car in for another oil change anyway since I don’t know what oil the dealer put in the car when they serviced at prior to sale. Better be safe then sorry later.

This doesn’t help me at all. I can’t find any pedals on that side of my car.

At least you won't bang your head on the steering wheel while looking...
