Coming due this month again but a new dealer has franchise so we'll see.
I paid about $3500 plus tax for a 4-year/75,000 mile extended warranty from my Jaguar dealership with a $100 deductible/claim. It is the only warranty beyond the CPO warranty they offer. It is still a third party warranty although you wouldn't know it since all the paperwork is done on Jaguar letterhead. The dealership also provides all of the administration so you don't deal with any third parties yourself which is nice too. They also maintain all the maintenance and service records to support any warranty claims. The service includes roadside assistance and I also get a loaner for any period of warranty service.

Their warranty is top-shelf or "Platinum" level although not specifically called that. Exclusions include normal wear and tear items including brake pads and rotors, batteries, cables, manual and hydraulic clutch assemblies, corrosion, glass, tires, etc. and body components not in connection with covered repairs. Any "non-factory" components or software will not be covered.

Covered repairs include everything major: engine components, transmission components, drive axles components, engine electrical system components, steering and suspension, heating/cooling system, body electrical systems including factory sound system and monitoring/safety systems, braking system (sans wear items like pads), and fuel delivery system.

My car is currently in for its 4 year service, at 34,000 miles. I'm doing the 4 yr/64K mile service (which includes engine air filters.) The service manager just called, and as I have the 380HP engine, they recommend changing spark plugs for $500.

Nice try - maintenance schedule recommends 6 yr/96K for park plugs. I'll wait.

I have two words for you Dave - no, not those two (although you might want to pass those two onto your dealer): Scarborough Jaguar.

...and changing the engine air filters cost nothing, because they didn't do it. I didn't specifically ask them to, but I did request the 4 yr/64K mile service, which should include that.

I don't think air filters have a time limit on them, just mileage.

Yeah, I'm not worried about it, just annoyed that the dealer didn't follow the maintenance schedule.

You don't have the required miles on your car yet so the dealer is correct.

Interesting. The manual generally states years/mileage, whichever occurs first. Not that I object, as I'm sure you're right that the air filters don't need to be changed yet. But when I asked the dealer to do the 4yr/64K mile service (and the invoice indicates that's what they did), then I think it's reasonable to expect that they did everything that the maintenance schedule lists for that.

Engine intake filter is ridiculously designed - you have to remove bumper and wheels to get at it. I think it is something like 1.5h in just labor.
