Default Service Today

I had my oil changed today, and driving home I noticed the dealer put a sticker telling me to change the oil again at six months or 7500 miles. I thought it was once a year or 7500 miles.

But they want you to do it again in 6 months so you'll pay them. Also its not 7500 miles either...

I thought it was wrong. Then I started thinking maybe JLR wants it done more frequently. I'll call the sa tomorrow and see why they recommended it, rather than what the manual states.

Whenever my dealer had the car they used to put a sticker for 5K km (3K miles) and three months.

I imagine it's so that they can generate more revenue for the service department

Default 15,000 miles.........

........is for "normal operating conditions". If you live where it gets cold, or hot, or is dusty, or if you accelerate faster than granny, then you should change oil more frequently. So, service departments of all brands recommend shorter cycles. The manufacturer's specification is for sales and marketing purposes only.
