My 2016 V6S is equipped with the active exhaust switch, and when the car is started the active exhaust is turned off by default (i.e. the switch is not illuminated). I've tried searching to determine if there is any way to get the active exhaust to be turned on by default, but to no avail. Anyone have any idea if this is possible?
By default whenever you start the car, the exhaust valves will open regardless if the button is illuminated and revert to their original state depending on the prior drive cycle. Example..if you drove in Dynamic Mode on your last drive..it will start up in Dynamic Mode on your next drive so the exhaust valves will be open. If you were in regular mode, the exhaust valves will open at start up and then close. Its to enhance the start up noise. Refer to attachment:

Back when I owned a G35, the "Flexible Memory Module" from KPTechnologies was the preferred method to disable traction control by default. Basically, the module records the behavior of an electrical switch, and replays that signal whenever the car is started. I'm wondering if perhaps the same tactic could be used in this scenario to automatically enable the active exhaust at vehicle startup...

Yes this, same as mine .. it takes at least 3 or 4 hours, I've never really paid attention to the time as I simply switch to dynamic whenever I drive it.

Why are we collectively expending braincells on a solution for a Dynamic mode default?
There's a switch like right there. And I mean right there. This switch is easier to flick than even making a radio volume adjustment. In fact, other than the steering wheel, I would bet the engineers who designed the interior ergos probably designed the entire cockpit around that very dynamic switch. Did I mention that it's pretty easy to get to? Now I was thinking to myself, "What if the dynamic mode switch was say in the glove compartment like a nitrous toggle in a ricer", would I bitch? Not sure, but I have to say the DMS, as it sits, is in a very convenient spot.
Could this be the definition of a first-world problem?

As a pedestrian, I find super loud exhausts to be anti-social.
Especially when the driver hits it coming up behind me.

You make a good point as to why Dynamic isn't the default.
Imagine if it was, and you kept forgetting to turn it "off" before starting the car in the morning in your garage. I'm sure those in your immediate vicinity would quickly grow tired of the early morning racket. It doesn't become "music" until you hit the open road.

The baffles are always wide open when you first fire it up. They then close after a few seconds if the button isn't flip. So, like many of us, it's impossible for the F-Type to be sociable in the morning.
It's kinda like the Eco-mode button. It's way too much trouble for many people to push that button, and those types would rather complain about it.
I can't imagine anyone with the stick shift (6sp) concerned with one or two extra button pushes during the course of a drive.Hell, one of the best features of some of older vehicles was entire dash panels full of gauges and toggle switches.
I will repeat one thing I have found on my car as to why I do not start out in Dynamic. If the exhaust valve is open when cold it spits a whole lot of black speckled junk on the back of my orange car. If I drive in Normal until warm, then switch to Dynamic, no black spots. Although the car starts with the exhaust open, it closes pretty quickly in Normal.
