Yes I couldn’t decide between Ammonite and IRR.
I went on a factory visit to see all the colours.
In the end I thought that I would get bored with the red so I went for the Grey.
I’m sometimes asked if it’s an Aston. Ammonite is similar to AM colour.
Not sure if should be insulted or pleased
Neither here nor there. Sure, more money, but less bang for the buck.
That's the color I'd pick! The '16 Rhodium silver is a bit lighter and dare I say a bit washed out in comparison. I really like all the sliver hue options in the current '19/ '20 models.
It also depends on wheels and interior; I was set on a white exterior for a while and thought the red interior was a non-starter, then I saw a rhodium with red interior and carbon blades with black pack. To me it is the exactly what the car should look like. I have seen each of those colors/features on other cars in various configurations and just didn’t think they liked as good. I think silver is a classic color for the body style
and it doesn’t show dirt when it goes a couple
weeks between baths.

Mine is Lunar Grey with red seats, carbon Blades and black pack, and I reckon the colour is a very close match to that pic of the CX-16 posted earlier by SonofGaladriel.
Here's an oldish pic:
Thank you for the advice!
Options desired and used for my daily search:
*'16 V6 model for budget reasons:
1. Silver or perhaps gray color
2. Adaptive exhaust
3. Performance seats
4. 10 spoke alloy/chrome/diamond cut wheels
5. dual climate control, homelink, meridian surround stereo
CPO and AWD would be wonderful, but puts it out of reach.
I've never purchased a car without a good thorough look at it and test drive. Trusting the dealership for an accurate description and having it shipped would be a leap for me, but might be a strong possibility if the distance is too great and its the exact car I'm looking for.
BTW, given the weather we have in this area, I would recommend adding in the "Climate/Cold Weather" package to your list. The heated seats and steering wheel are glorious.
Frank, my16 f type s STORM GREY WITH BROGUE INTERIOR IVORY STITCHING. Beautiful special order color, think about it. It truly shows off the contours of the f type.
Shall I make it a TRIFECTA? (P.S. It “might” look black in pictures, but my 2015 STRATUS—or should I say STATUS, as in STATUS SYMBOL—Gray never looks anything but gray.)
I was also debating btw silver or grey for mine. Silver is classic and looks terrific. But it's quite light. I ended up with ammonite grey and love it. See attached
I’m partial to the Silver.... this is my ‘16 after having the ceramic coating applied....
This is why silver was in my top 2 choices. Lovely, shows off the curves best of all IMO. That said, each colour has its positives and most have some negatives, I have never seen an F Type in any colour that I wouldnt drive or want in my garage save perhaps the gold foil one Ben Kingsley was driving in "Collide".
Here in the DC area about 95% of the vehicles are some monochromatic shade of white to black (Boring!). I just had to have a car from the full color spectrum even though there are several shades of grey that look beautiful on the F-Type.

Well, in any given year they offer about 8 different shades from white to black, and maybe half of those are swapped out every MY, so I'm guessing about 2 dozen over 7 MYs.
I'm currently looking for my F type. Always been partial to silver hues and am focusing on the ammonite gray and/or rhodium silver with chrome wheels. Only a few F types here in the general KC area to go and look at in person, and those are black, BRG, white, and red.
So, my search is pretty much online and looking at the ad pictures which are very inconsistent due to lighting and picture quality. I know I'll be traveling to purchase so I need to be 100% sure of the color choice before committing.
Mostly considering the rhodium silver, however, some pictures I see (and there are more of this color available to choose from) have me leaning towards the ammonite gray. Also, forgive me, but I'm also very much a fan of the color of the AM DB10 in Specter and trying to figure out if the gray or silver F type is closer to that 'skyfall/spectre silver' which seems to be a bit in between.
I know asking for opinions on color choice is very subjective but I'd be grateful if those with silver or gray F types could share their opinions on why you chose that color. Which one, in real life, shows off the lines better?
not too keen on any grey coloured car, they look like they have a coat of grey primer with lacquer on top 🤮.
