Remember it is "each to His/Her own. There are a lot of folks out there in their big 4 door plain vanilla sedans driving around wondering why we would spend the money to drive these totally useless, 2 door, overpowered, fuel burning, cramped, noisy little imported cars in the first place (with or without stripes).

I ask myself the same question sometimes. Even to the point of calling these cars "stupid cars" because of the total cost of ownership and the extreme cost per mile. These cars are not primarily purchased for transportation. These cars are purchased because of the pleasure it gives us as car junkies or car enthusiast. They put a smile on our face and we feel the cost/benefit is justified either because we deserve it or just have the discretionary dollars available to spend on them. I like to think I buy these cars because I hate poverty.

The cost per smile is very much worth it, though.

The perfect modern Jag is the 2015 R. Then everything after that is prostitution of what was once pure.

Hmmm. My wife is really going to be upset with the amount of time I spend with my 2016 f type knowing this.

I think not. Everything can be improved in the eyes of the beholder. If for you the 2015R was a revalation, or your moment of 'enlightenment' , its personal.

So even you probably modded your car, even with not OEM tires or wheels, its personal.

Obviously, you love your Tata Jag and you enjoy it--kudos to you. IMO the legendary E Type was made even better and modern by Eagle. The Jaguar Eagle Speedster--the Jag Jag never built. Needs no silly sills, needs no silly rear wing, and needs no silly stripes. It screams "I'm a Jag and leave me alone because I'm perfect:

IMO, the modern Tata Jag (F Type) is so far removed from the E Type they should have used a different name. One has to look very hard to see any resemblance to the E Type or any other Jag. The only car manufacture that stays true to their heritage is Porsche. Unfortunately, Porsche doesn't build a Jag or the best looking cars and the 911 is way over priced.

I justify the cost by incorporating the smiles per mile I get while driving my Cat. 😄 Those numbers always win over any logical reason why I shouldn't have added this car the my fleet. The truck is useful to move things from A to B, my commuter Chevy Volt) gives me great gas mileage and is plenty comfortable, my motorcycle (Night Rod Special) helps me avoid all the L.A traffic and get me places faster, my stingray is a hoot to drive and is a two seater t-top ready for the weekends, my 72 Torino is a boat of a car that I can throw any of my friends and family in and have enough space in the trunk for everything we need foe a beach adventure...the Jag...there was no need...just extra icing on this fat kids cake 😂

Who needs to justify the cost of owning an F-Type?

I can!
My F-Type is the cheapest to own and run car I have had for some 20 years now, if I exclude the purchase price.
Good fuel economy, very cheap servicing and maintenance (99% DIY in my case) and extremely reliable.

I never liked the stripes on the Ferrari's let alone F-Types. No steps for me.

Default Stripes? Its about the base color of the car.

IMO, the base color of car determines to me if stripes would look proper or not.

On the silvers and grays I say no stripes. The car looks beautifully formal and stripes would just seem to clash with designed intent.

Now if my FT was green, red or dark blue, I would think those colors just beg for stripes. Those colors IMO are not so formal and the stripes would just set it off very well.
