Stuck clutch and a burn

Stuck clutch and a burn
After a red light my clutch stuck down as I tried to shift into first. After 20 seconds I was able to get it to release but there was a significant burning smell that lingered the rest of the day though the clutch behaved perfectly and has continued to do so.
I am quite certain there is a problem as this has never happened in all my years of driving manual transmission cars and burning smells are never good; but I am concerned the dealership will not take it seriously. Any advise on how to tackle this will be most appreciated.
p.s. This is the new clutch following the complete failure of the original after 1200 miles on the odometer.

Even if the clutch stopped slipping and has regained full engagement, the stink will linger for up to a full day with this car. But even if the clutch is working properly now, the problem is likely to recur. I suggest you wait for it to happen the 2nd time before taking to the dealer so you have some info regarding how often the problem might occur. Best of luck to you.
