Default Tesla Model 3

I just officially cancelled my Tesla Model 3 reservation. My last car was a leased Cadillac CTS-V coupe. That lease expired in October 2017 which 3 years ago would be my delivery date of a Model 3 per Mr. Musk. Well Mr. Over promise and under deliver has pushed my delivery date back several times. I made my reservation within the first hour they were available and wanted the base version. That currently puts me at an "early to mid" 2019 delivery. I thought at first the Model 3 would replace the Caddy, then I thought I'll drive a Yukon we still have for a few months until I get the Model 3. Then my wife happens to tell me "I kind of thought it was cool you had a bad *** car". Didn't think much of it until relating the comment to a friend. His reply was "small price to pay for your wife to think you're cool". Hmmm, indeed. Began with fastest 0-60 mph list of production cars with below 4.0 sec as my goal as that's what the Caddy could do. Can't afford it was mainly what I was seeing. Maybe a used Nissan GTR but man the styling on those just doesn't speak to me. But then comes the F-type R and it's breathtakingly gorgeous and at 3.6 sec. Took a while to find the right one but a 2015 R with 17k miles and under 60k USD, perfect. Had not driven one, did not test drive the one I bought (did have someone from MyMechanic check it out), and had it delivered from out of state. So then I thought I'll still get the Tesla and use that as my daily driver, keep low miles on the R. It's only been 3 months but no way I'm driving anything else. The tune and pulley have made it even better and more fun so in 3-5 business days I should get my 1k deposit back. Maybe offset the cost of the 4S tires everyone raves about.

Congrats. I have a 2015 'R' and is a blast to drive. I am still awaiting my Model 3 standard range. I received invite to order, but don't want to spend too much on the car so will need to wait until end of 2018. My Jag will still be my play car.

Maybe if they build a performance version (P100D) of the 3, then I'd be interested.

Once you get the michelins on, you'll never want to sell your 2015 R.

The P100D version might give it some oomph, but it's just so ugly! It doesn't have the grace of the Model S or even the X, it's just ugly.

It's truly hideous. The front end makes me think of a eunuch. However, tech wise I thought it would be a blast to learn, explore and play with. Would have leased it figuring it would be outdated in 3 years anyway.
