Default Text Notification?

Just wondering if there are notifications available for text messages. I also have a 16 XF and was able to enable the notification box under my phones bluetooth setting. iPhone 7+ for reference

Do you mean where the text comes up on the car screen? Both my 16.5 F Type and my wife's 16 XE (she uses an iPhone 7 plus) have that function, though the words only show when the car is stationary, otherwise it reads it out to you (pretty accurately). There is also a template reply setup which has worked a few times for me but not others.

Yes. I don't know why I can't enable it on my phone. Am i supposed to do something with the car first?

Wow, would love to have that! But I suspect it is another feature not available in the US market?

Yeah it does - I use a Note 6 and it works in both cars (f type and XE). The issue was discussed in the XE forum - I'll try to find the thread.

Bruce, did your car get the recent upgrade software campaign applied. I have a note 4, disconnected and reconnected with no luck?

Here is the jist of the other thread that Bruce posted:
"Its very simple to do on iPhone 4, 5 and 6. To turn the text feature on first connect your device via bluetooth to your car's compatible multimedia centre as you would do normally to make hands free calls. Then on your iphone go to your bluetooth settings, select the connection for your car, click the blue circle exclamation point and the select "Show Notification" by toggling it on."
I tried that, no "show notification" on that screen on my iphone 6s.

Hi. The XE did, but my F Type (16.5) always worked. It is booked in for a service and has to have some "campaigns" done which I think involves a complete reboot of the multimedia
