Default Third party warranty, yes or no?

Hi All,

I'm excited to have picked up my F-Type. I got a beautiful 14MY V8S in Polaris White several weeks back w/ crazy low mileage (8800mi!). At the time I bought the car, I ended up picking up a third party warranty. Negotiated a 84mo 75k warranty through The Warranty Group for $3500. The question is, is it worth it? What have other owners done? I'm less concerned w/ actually spending >$3500 out of pocket for repairs over the course of 8 years as I am having to deal with a company that may nickle/dime me or screw me based on some verbage. Anyone have experience w/ this warranty?

Congrats on the car! My biggest concern would be how they assess covered items, what's not covered, and if they allow you to take it to a dealer for repair.

I guess that's all in the fine print.

short answer... no
even the warranty they sell at the JLR dealers are not endorsed by them and can be hit or miss

It's kind of the vibe I'm getting. At least with paying out of pocket, I can go to a JLR dealership and get it done properly and directly. The JLR dealership in my area sell the same warranty but it's still a third party. And from reading the threads on here and just anecdotal stories, the F-Types are holding up pretty good overall.

Read the contract thoroughly item by item and understand all it states.

I highly recommend the policies offered through AAA. I certainly plan on getting an extended warranty when the Jag warranty runs out. I saved a lot of money on my MINI taking it out to 84 mos. and 100k miles. Once the car hit 100k miles the 3rd party warranty coverage became too costly to justify.
