Default Trac Mode

I've never put it on Trac mode but this article's specs are pretty interesting.

Really good and detailed assessment. They match up with what others like Car and Driver have tested as well. Seems like Jaguar really underestimates the performance. Jaguar F-type R Reviews - Jaguar F-type R Price, Photos, and Specs - CARandDRIVER

Also interesting that the different driving modes didn't change the end result, if I was reading that correctly.

It is also interesting to compare the coupe with the convertible test results

especially the measured sound levels. I remember older threads here complaining that the coupe was not as loud as the convertible. The results here say otherwise...

I don't think they mention it, but are the sound levels measured from inside the cabin or from a specific distance from the exhaust?

Edit: nevermind I see on the convertible one they specify top up/top down so that would mean from inside the cabin.

Ugh... the more real the r roadster gets, the more I want to upgrade my v8s!

In my V8S roadster I could easily get the back out.
In my R coupe I have a much harder time of it.

I wasn't sure if I was just being shy, or if it was some other difference - seems to go with what this review noted, the coupe appears to have more grip (likely due to the huge increase in stiffness, even though I never felt the roadster felt floppy).

I've tried to have it in Trac before - be careful, as it is not terribly difficult to miss it and go to "everything off" - I did that accidentally on a fast/twisty mountain trail and that was exciting.

Also note that Trac resets itself back to normal when you turn the car off and turn it on again - was hoping it would remember similar to Dynamic mode.

(and I disagree about turning off the heavy steering - I hated the lighter steering in the roadster and much prefer the coupe - to each their own, preferences obviously vary)

I thought it was my imagination, but the reason I went with an F Type was because I could break the rear end loose at will when I drove the V8 S.

The R Coupe I ordered won't do that, and I'm a little disappointed.

Even with the traction control completely off?

Haven't tried it with traction control totally off--I was comparing it to the V8 S I drove in dynamic mode with traction control fully engaged.

Was driving this morning doing about 30mph & decided to floor it. The tail wiggled a little then planted & just shot off like a rocket! Wasn't in Dynamic or sport mode. Love this car!
