honestly, i dont think the store brand makes any difference, at the end of the day it comes down to the installer. I took my car to sears for a tire swap.......and they inflated my tire to 42psi!!
This scares me on MULTIPLE levels because 1) its written in the door how much the tire pressure should be. 2) ANYONE WORKING ON CARS should know to check this

never the less, i understand that these places offer more of a guarantee if things should go wrong.

On the XE, what they call "Normal" tire pressure mode is like 42 psi... Light mode is the normal 30 something... Light should be call Normal, and Normal called Heavy something...

I just replaced my original tires at Costco, they definitely are not a "low end shop." All of the technicians who touched my car were Michelin trained. They do a nitrogen fill. They used a torque wrench for the final tightening of the lug-nuts before settling the car back down on the ground and again after it was driven. They were concerned about the placement of the lift under the car and let me into the shop to check and supervise the lift. The lift had pads on it and they took care. The price for the PS4s was excellent and they refused a cash tip.
One snowy night I had a blow-out in my Jaguar X-Type after hitting a major frost-heave on the highway. It was close to midnight, snowing like crazy and I got the jack and spare out. The yokels at my "high end" local tire dealer had impact-wrenched the lug nuts on so tight I couldn't loosen 3 of them. The car was flat-bed towed to a local shop. I wound up purchasing a new set of lug nuts for all the wheels. The original shop swore they always used a torque wrench on high-end cars. I stood outside and watched them impact-drive a set of lug nuts on a Porsche 911 with no torque wrench in sight. I've never gone back to that "high end" tire dealer, even with my wife's Subaru.
