Trying To Figure Out Optional Features
Hi everyone,
I'm looking at picking up this F Type (VIN below). I've tried a few VIN decoders but havent been able to determine what options it has spec'ed. Anyone know how to do that? Thanks.

You need the Topix build sheet.
Although this has proven to be unreliable over the years, especially with speced options, it's the best you will get.
Some JLR dealerships will provide you with it if you ask nicely and give them the VIN, especially if it's a dealership you are looking to buy from.
I *think* you can get it yourself from Topix but maybe not, and even if you can you need to first sign up to Topix and pay a fee.

You might want to give Monroney Lab a try and see if they have a window sticker for this car. It will cost you around $10.

The seller doesnt seem to know the exact specs of it, they're not the original owner.

Have you tried this decoder site? It pretty much matches the window sticker on my F-Type.

To the OP: "Most likely", this would be a car to stay far far away from. The problem with water/flood damage is that water wicks into the wiring harnesses, potentially many feet. Worse, contaminates such as salt remain even if the water is removed, so it's a perfect storm (sorry) for future electrical failures. The only way to really solve it is to replace everything electrical in the car... everything, which is unlikely to have happened. Also, insurance companies will check the VIN, do a CarFax, see what happened, and either refuse coverage or charge a lot more.

That site doesn't show any options at all. I checked my VIN and it just shows the standard features and equipment.

A lot of options you could pick from photos if you want to put them up. Eg type of seats, interior black pack/extended leather, trim, stereo (if you see the "meridian" on the speakers), colour, exterior black pack, wheels, sills, brakes. That said if it is an earlier base model you might not be able to tell if it has the switchable exhaust (not sure if the bases still had the loud button) or adaptable dampers. You'd need to know the year model and whether it was base or S or V6S or R, of course
