Question V6 - Sports Cats (OEM vs 200cell)

hey guys,

i guess this is my first post. Ive had my F for over a year and have been lurking, reading lots of awesome threads, and have spoken to the chaps at VAP recently too : )

got a question,
i'm looking at the sports cats that i am seeing for sale, and its a pair of 200cell. however i am seeing mention of a seocndary 600cell cat exists in the OEM pipework.
what i cant find is an under-car pic that actually shows this.

also what are the other two OEM cats. are they both 400s?

its just a general knowledge question. I'm getting lined up for the lower pulley and remap, and was just sniffing the idea of doing some exhaust work too.

cheers
Pritchard

so basically -
does the V6 have 3 cats? one on each bank/downpipe, and a single secondary in the mid section? because thats how it reads.

Both the V6 and V8 have the same cat sections. Driver's side is different on AWD/2WD.

Each bank has one 600 cell primary catalyst, and one 400 cell secondary catalyst. They are integrated into the same can, and the monitors only check the primary cat efficiency.

Our units replace the entire assembly with a single 200 cell brick.

I had no idea there were 2 cells inside that one can. Thanks for the info.
