+1 to pulling fuse F43! OP, my car comes with the switchable exhaust but I virtually never drive with the optional exhaust off--it's pretty much customary now to start the car, turn on the exhaust, and switch off auto stop/start all in one go. Definitely pull the fuse, you have nothing to lose it's a very manageable car in loud mode all the time
