We bought our F Type used from an Audi dealership and they had an R8 sitting there. I was surprised at how small it looked but I never looked in it.

Well, I don't have an F type, I have an XJS but I thought you might get a kick out of this anyway. I have a little ford focus ST which is really a Mercedes M2 with a Ford skin. It's hilarious to drive and way overpowered. It still manages to get 30-35 miles per gallon while blasting around the country roads and it has a large hatch to put the groceries in.

I'd give my left nut for a XKRS-GT. Luckily my nuts are safe, they dont come in RHD even if $$ were not an issue.

Default Other cars

We have a mint 93 Rover Mini Cooper - fun car ideal for play,or short hops which saves the XK from such things. Wife has a new Jimny, and the workhorse is a boring Hyundai SUV.. Then of course there are motorcycles.

Have a 1944 North American T 6 Texan advanced fighter trainer, faster than our f type and can do it upside down. 2019 Jeep Wrangler Sahara serves as aircraft tug, scuba

diving, metal detecting, fossil hunting and off road adventure platform

I never got to fly a T-6. I got some good stick time in a T-34, but that's nowhere near as cool.

metal detecting...diving...Florida...you must know Terry Shannon.

Turbo intercooled 4. Doesn't sound as good as the F-type!

Default Usaussie’s other cars

Whilst I love my 2017 Jaguar XF 35T I also have a soft spot for my wife’s 2018 Infiniti Q 50 Red Sport S. The differences between the two cars are subtle and it is a pleasure to drive each car.
The infinity is quicker, significantly, I mean it is a rocketship, I have timed it using a commonly available app /OBD2 combo at 0 to 60 in at 4.6 secs. The jag is slower at 4.9 and change
The Jag is a. nicer ride and has that classic ‘shrink wrap around’ quality that big good handling, smooth riding motorcars have.
That’s not to say that the Nisan infinity it’s not a nice drive it is, it’s just different. I must say that the Infinity’s active noise reduction makes it quieter inside than the Jag. I never thought I would say that about a Jag.
The final spot in my three car garage is taken by a mint condition 2000 model Pontiac Firebird Trans Am WS6 (whew!).
I was worried when I bought the Infinity that the Pontiac may not continue to provide me with the excitement that it provided historically, however that has not been the case as it has unique qualities that make it a pleasure to get into each time.
It’s about as quick as the jag - I ran it once at the Altamonte speedway and it ran a 13.22 quarter and 0-60 in 4.9, which is not bad for a 20-yea-old car.
I now live in Australia (I am an aussie) and I bought the Pontiac back with me and converted it to RHD (myself).
I must say that it gets more looks then either the Jag or the Infinity for according to the local Pontiac register, there are only 5 of the same model in the country and mine is the only stick👌🏼

There is always an E Type or an original XK8 if you don't mind the older style Jaguars. If your interested in a saloon then the best value for money classic that still has the traditional Jaguar looks, then the X300 or the XJR version with the V8. They are as cheap as chips but finding a good one, and I mean one with very low milage and log books, ( And few caring owners) and that has really been looked after, then they are worth spending well over the book price for, as they will become great classics very soon. It's a shame that so many young guys have been buying them as daily drivers and just for the performance, and have not really cared for them as a true classic. Buy one from a true caring lover whilst they are so cheap.

The older XK8's in Australia go for around $30 - $60 grand. I do think that the coupes look just a good as the convertibles. I never thought the same about the E Types.
The convertibles in the E Type are to die for. However all that said and out of the way the XK8's are a more modern car and much better to drive than the older Jaguars. Also I think the big asset of the XK8's is that the interior is very luxurious and is the kind of interior that we may never see again in a sports touring car. The interior of the XK8's in a class of it's own. Only the modern Rolls Royces and Bentleys sports come close to that kind of interior and finish.

My consulting practice now requires me to put ~40k miles per year on my daily driver so I have switched to a transportation appliance mindset a few years back and was driving a RAV 4 but I recently replaced it with a '21 Mazda 3 Turbo Hatchback. Really helps break up the boring drives as it is quite quick and handles pretty well. I also have a Nissan Juke Nismo that SWMBO decided she wanted to drive instead of the boring RAV 4. That puppy is really fun to drive because it handles so well but is much slower than the Mazda 3. As soon as the Hyundai Kona N comes out the Juke will be replaced.

Oh - and it won't look out of place in Walmart's parking lot.
I can't recommend this highly enough. I got mine kind of on a whim when VW was doing a fire sale right after Dieselgate broke, and have been very happy with it.
We also have a Volkswagen Touareg for long trips and towing, a Datsun 280Z, and an MG TD.
