What would you do in this situation.
Long story short. Auto Nation Dealership sold me my f type R with tires that are flat spotting/ cupping/ manufactured in 2015 expiring with DOT per local auto nation dealership. The car has 9400 miles on it. 2016 R. I took the car to jaguar for inspection they informed me that “your tires have Good tread but need replacing” They are too old. I contacted auto nation about the matter.
Backflash for a moment During the test drive i noticed the tires were very slippery like they were rotting and loud. But again plenty tread. Little inner wear. Service foreman assured me i had nothing to worry about. Drive on them for a while they’ll be good.
Fast forward again. They told me to take it to an auto nation dealership to have it checked. They said the same thing tires are bad.
I then told the GM i was going to speak with corporate. To let them know i was sold a vehicle that was gone through said inspection and found out these tires basically unsafe.
So then after mentioning that the GM of the dealership is now offering to cover up to $1000 for a new set of tires But he said if i accept his offer i can’t speak to corporate on the issue.
Or
I can get corporate involved on the matter that i just spent $65k to find out i need to spend another 15-1600 on new tires installed. He said if you talk to corporate their going to pass it back to him to handle and he’s going to tell them what he’s willing to do for the matter.
Should i go with the 1k and call it a day and mount the tires. Or chance it with corporate who on Google has a 2.8 star rating i believe it was for a whole set?

1k is reasonable, used cars come with used tires, take the 1k and consider it settled.
You can keep pushing but the effort wouldn’t be worth it.
If you are unhappy about the fact they sold you a car with unsafe tires, tell them how you feel and see if they apologize

So, I just had to replace my two rear Pilot Sport 4S and went with Tire Rack. Easy order and fast, free shipping - 3 days to my door + no tax for FL.
I just priced for your 16R:
$1255.96
My shop charges $100 for a mount/balance
= about $1350 installed.
I would go back to GM and demand that as a counter offer. If the GM had offered $1200-1300, maybe I would have taken the offer, but not at a $350 lowball. Too much. If he doesn't bite, go to corporate and explain why you want $1300, and where you got that reasonable estimate, vs the GM's unreasonable one.
Good luck and keep us posted!

Seems like they are being reasonable on a used car offering you $1000 for tires. Or you can take door number 2 and possibly get nothing, or at best ~$200-300 more? I would take the offer and say thank you...Since you asked. But everyone is different.

I would as well take the $1k and be done. You may be able to do better but I highly doubt it will be a simple, smooth route to go and the outcome will be unknown. If you are only looking to get the tires covered and you are short $300ish on their offer, I would think your time spent trying to get more would cost you more than $300 of your time.

That’s what I’m thinking door number one it is. Taking the cash prize and moving on.
And thank you to this forum for helping me figure out what the flapping noise was in my hatch. Just using the search button found it to be the seal in the hatch not sticking to the body of the Car anymore if anyone else runs into that issue. Double side 3m did the job

I would accept the offer, add my own money and use this as an opportunity to buy better tires. If your car has Pirelli P Zero, these are trash even when new. 1K is reasonable, considering that you purchased a used car and you can't expect brand new tires in such circumstances (but you can expect road-safe tires).
