If I had been living on the same continent, I'd love to come. I'm not poor, but to put my F-Type on a plane to fly to the USA.. Not going to happen, I'm afraid.. Maybe teleport one day.. :icon_download: |

Rally an BMW adept for sure.. ..so how do you rate the F-Type [ V6 or V8 ?] in relation to the BMW M4 and Nissan GT-R, as these are your recent memories.. :icon_playing: |

It’s a maniac and is definitely faster. |

Or did you drive the XJS in between ? 1963 Triumph 500 1968 Suzuki super six 1975 Kawasaki KH250 1981 Suzuki X7 1982 Yamaha RD250LC 1984 Kawasaki GpZ 1100 1986 Kawasaki GpZ900 R plus a number of not very interesting hire / lease cars that I can't or would rather not remember ! |

The nissan saga was due to my wife working with Nissan Motor Parts Center in the port of Amsterdam.. .. they sold ex-managers cars at bool value to employees that did not got complementary cars to begin with.. This meant we drove very cheap as we could buy a 3 yrs old car for 40% of the value and sell at the same price 3 years on. But after a while [ Terrano II was last prize..] the tax inspector got wind of it and then it all stopped... I did get the Tino at a reduced price but the car was not able to cope with my 2m height and 98kgs then. I fell of the chair in almost every corner.. The Patrols were therefore used, bit too long a story about how & why. But we ditched the Terrano then as we got the first Patrol, traded the Terrano in on a new Micra for the shopping ... But the seats in Nissans are no match to my fysique , and getting a bit older it kills my back and I start slipping discs in the lumbar zone.. So I don't look at nissan at all anymore. My wife left the company in 2007, also one of the reasons I guess. My best ever car is a Discvery 3 [LR3] , we will most probably never sell it. We had such good times on holidays, it took us every year 2500km's to the Algarve [ europe's California..] and back, hassle free. We had 7 persons [ some friends of our children would com along], all luggage and do 135kmh steady on the highways averaging 9,5 km to the liter [ 22.35 MPG US ]. Its a 2.7L V6 diesel engine.

well if the OP doesn’t respond, I can. I bought a brand new GT-R in 2013. One of very best cars I ever owned or driven. I took it to an Extreme Experience driving show in 2015 and it was one of the favorites of all the instructors...these guys had 488 Ferrari’s, Lambos and R8’s to drive and they favored the GT-R. I sold it because the maintenance costs (not repair costs) were obscene. You’re in the same price point as the F type R, but with the Jag’s warranty and maintenance program, the F type R wins....and the Jag is prettier. But the GT-R is a very close second, very close. |
Some great lists above!
I believe this would be all of them for me, maybe missing one or two. When you look at them all listed out...wow...can't help but think I'd be retired already. @VR46.
WOW.. ..enormous list... What stands out to me is you switch between jap/nonjap cars, like you hope they cost less to maintain, then they're boring, etc etc..:icon_violin: |
@VR46
Retired? Retired? Unless you purchased your first car at a very advanced age you are but a child! Now back to work.:icon_deadhorse: |
Wow, just looking at this thread as to the number of cars people have owned makes me feel I have accomplished nothing in life ... lol
I don't even want to list the only three cars I have owned to date. It's very embarrassing :icon_bricks: |

Nonsense! May I suggest NEVER measuring yourself against anyone and certainly not about their possessions? Past, present, and future! Based on what little I know about you I would rather spend time with you rather than with a “jerk” (to put it mildly) who has owned countless cars. Success should never ever be measured in $’s! |

Humble as always you are Sir. :) Cars are the biggest passion for almost everyone on the forum, and seeing people do what they love really makes me happy. I seek inspiration regarding information, humility, kindness and all of the positives that are here on this forum and the people I have met in real life. If I grow up to be even remotely as cool as you guys are, I would consider myself successful. I hope and will always try to never become a "jerk" irrespective of what stage I am in my life. And in the end I would want to complete my life long dream of owning a V12. Someday .....
As you shared, cars/bikes are a passion for many of us, fun to see what people have owned thru life to enjoy that passion. |

I don't even want to list the only three cars I have owned to date. It's very embarrassing :icon_bricks: If you would NOT share your cars, it would distort the item. Then it would look its only petrol heads or old geezers who own an F-Type... If anybody had asked once to me ".. why does a 18 year old student drive a 6 cylinder executive car.. " when I had the Austin Princess 2200HLE automatic [ VERY posh car in the Netherlands in 1980..] , I would not have been to shy to tell them that it was because it was the only car with decent seats in it.. Story goes that when they started building the Concorde they ordered thousands of seats. But only a handfull of planes were ever build... The seats ended up in the Austin Princess.. .. and the name was a wink to the use of the 'royal class seats'.. :D Even so, that when my dad confiscated the car as he preferred it over his Mitsubisho Lancer, I bought a xx-th hand ford taunus and bought two Princess seats at a scrapyard and put them in the Taunus.. Those were the days : just unscrew and replace and it fitted.. :icon_toast: Oh yeah, just thought of this. Did you ever see the old BBC Top Gear series ? They had celebs as guests to drive a '..reasonably priced car..' , these people often only had a few cars in their lives and started out with the utter most basic means of transport.. ..so don't worry : you'd be in famous company.. ;) |
Death lord, agree on V12! Aston or Ferrari will do. Or this one: http://v12ls.com/v12-kindig-design-maybellene/ |

Why not ? Its not to show off.. .. its just that I wondered if there is a 'common denominator' in people who own an F-Type. The more data the better the result.

Carbon Fiber, Wood, Aluminium, Leather. Everything looks so amazing, it all just works beautifully together. I think this is one of the best interiors I have seen on a car. It was breathtaking. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.jag...cbb18f89d4.jpg |
@death1ord.
Sonata , very sensible low budget mobilty / BMW 535xi , not much wrong with that.. / 2017 Jaguar F-Type SVR ; wish I could afford one [ € 205.000 here due to CO2 taxes..]. What I find really funny is that we have CLASHING taste for the looks of cars.. .. the pictured pagani interior is fro me an example of complete lack of taste or the vaguest idea where they wanted to go design wise.. :icon_starwars: battle of tastes... :icon_toast: |
