Default Wind screen

I have read a few articles that said the f-type convertible came standard with a mesh windscreen. Is this true? I can't find one anywhere in my car and as it gets colder it will become a more pressing issue. Should I have received one? If not, no big deal, just don't want to pay for something that should have come with the car.

I think it may have been an option - I suspect it was part of one of the packages, as I don't think I spec'd it separately. Some here have switched to lucite (either solid or drilled) to get a clearer view through the rear-view mirror.

Do you have the brackets for the screen on your roll bar hoops?

I have the mesh screen and don't use it. It is fine with the top down during the day, but at night or with the top up it limits visibility too much for my taste (some would blame my old eyes though so I'm sure it varies). The lexan/plexi one works great for me in all conditions.

I'll be the first to blame your old eyes, FJ. I leave mine in place year round and while it does interfere a bit with rear vision my old eyes don't seem to mind it.

thanks for the feedback and link. I had seen that thread and looked into the plexiglass versions online. The cheapest I see on eBay or elsewhere is $300 for the screen and more for plexi. The amazon link is sold out. Do I need brackets or do they come with the parts? My hoops are smooth but there is a plastic cutout shape on the insides that i assumed was removed to place the windscreen.

It was a cost option. It comes with brackets that need to be installed in the hoops.

You can only get the brackets with the mesh kit. It works great. No wind at 65 with the windows up. Cuts done glare at night. Easy to stow and replace.

I have it and couldn't tell the difference with it in or out so I just put it in the trunk.

Mine came with mesh. I tried plexiglass version form eBay, but it rattled at highway speeds... took the plexiglass to a glass shop and they duplicated it with tempered glass - marvelous!! Cost about $120 at local glass shop.

Agian, Windrestictor is best, but requires brackets from OEM mesh.
