WTB: V8 s end of June
Hi all,
I will relocate from Tokyo to Greensboro NC in the end of June, and I'm looking to buy an F-type V8 S as one out of two cars in the household.
Having driven the F-type as a test driver for JLR around 2013-2014, the sound and "feeling" made it a dream car for me. Now it seems they have moved into a price bracket I can justify spending on a car, but just.
I have followed the market for some time and it seems the early V8s can be had from 35-38 k USD.
Any advice about suitable cars for sale, or that will be for sale in about a month would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Hi,
Thanks for your replies. I realize it's tight and I may extend the budget slightly upwards - but seemingly good deals exist just below 40 k USD. This for example looks clean to me: https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...2538/overview/
If I can't find a V8 under 40k I will likely look into a C63 AMG - I'm a V8 guy and know I would be disappointed long term if I settle for a V6 S.
I'll keep this tread updated up until arrival, and I guess time will tell if I can get into a good V8 s for below 40.

Some of us prefer the 6 for various and different reasons. At least I do.
Again, to each his/her own.
Seriously, I wish you luck on your quest.

Hehe...
Settle may not be the right word - the V6 S has all the power I would ever need - it's just that I'm a sucker for the noise the V8 S makes (although the V6 sounds very good too). I know I would want to get into a V8 eventually if I bought the V6 S and hence recon it's a better idea to wait a little longer if 40k is not realistic.
Not sure about all of you, but I have a list of cars I would like to own and apart from the F-type a C63 AMG w204 is on the list (due to the N/A M156 6.2 V8). This might be more sensible with my budget, but let's see. The right car is actually most important and I'm open for a M5 E39 as well (I know - very very different from the F Type in terms of driving dynamics).
Just for fun and giggles, what cars are on your list of cars to own?
Mine currently looks something like this:
- F type V8 S or R
- C63 AMG W204
- M5 E39
- M3 E90
- Pro touring Camaro 69
- Chevelle 70 454
