Hello familia! I’m new to this forum, and new to the Jaguar family.
i have a 71 Jaguar xj6 4.2L that I bought about a year a go with carburator issues as far as the previous owner knew about, hmm got the engine going with the help of Jaguar people. When I went to put it in reverse, there was a went into gear with a very hard clunk and the car didn’t move and it stalled. That’s where I am with this car right now. Any ideas, any help will be greatly appreciated.

 

Can you tell us a wee bit more, like - could you get into the forward gears before this reverse gear problem ? Have you managed to get it out of reverse or is it stuck there ?

it does go into all gears with a very hard clunk and it just stalls.
