Hello Everyone,
AJ6 4.0 Camshafts - I have two pairs. One pair from my own, low mileage 1991 which are in very good condition and a pair from a head of unknown vintage, possibly XJS.
The 91 pair have lots of digits between the lobes (see photo) and the areas between the lobes are untouched.
The digits read (Inlet Cam); EAC 9165, lobe, PB, lobe (or two), 2, lobe, 5, lobe, F, lobe, M, lobe, 67, lobe, N, lobe, LYDI
The 'unknown' pair have much less info and are rougher between the lobes - it looks like Casting Flash has been ground off...
The digits read;
EAC9165PB, about half way down the Cam is a number '10' and then at the end something that could be a 'C'.
My query is - is one pair better than the other..??
I will be fitting the unknown head to my car but don't know whether to swap the Cams over and use my original 91my.
