Mark,

1997 was the cross over year so you could have either a straight 6 (X300) or a V8 (X308).

You mention finding the XJ6 X300 so it sounds like you've got the S/C straight 6. If so, the reset is the same on the N/A and S/C models.

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User ID button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Having a good look at the alarm reset instructions for the 97 jag xjr6 and the only thing I'm not sure about is do I carry out the instructions once as I only have the one key fob, or do I carry out the cycle 5 times just for the one key? Help!!!!!!!

Alarm reset is closer to Black Magic than Science! Never understood why Jaguar have so many different procedures across the model range.

As you only have the one remote / fob, you only need to carry out the instructions once. If you later get hold of another remote as a spare, you'll need to go through the whole reset procedure again with BOTH remotes.
