Default crank position sensor XF V8

My wife's 2011 XF 5.0V8 hit something nasty on the road, tore up the plastic undertray and broke the crankshaft position sensor in half. She was lucky, the car managed to limp home.
The sensor from Jag cost about $60, it has a jag part number online but it's a ford part xw4p7h-100AB

It appears that the ford part actually used on fords and lincolns is xw4p7h-100AA.

It's hard for me to believe that these parts would have different specs? At first I thought the 100-AB was a date code of some sort, but all the parts on ebay are marked 100-AA, so I am less sure that is true.

Does anyone know if the 100-AA marked part is identical?

cheers!
