help please, what car is this

hi there, i am thinking of purchasing this vehicle , I think it is a mk9, i need a little bit of help thou, what are these worth when they are fully restored? also are parts hard to get, any help on this vehicle would be great, the pics are at this link http://img23.imageshack.us/gal.php?g=pc040015.jpg ,

Hi James,

Just looking at the pictures, it looks more like a MK VII, an earlier model than the MK IX. A wild-*** guess value would put a fully restored one in the 30-50K range. The downside is that it would probably cost you around 100K to fully restore it, ballpark figure. Parts availability is probably not unreasonable, but you would have to find a supplier in the UK. Restoring one of these cars would have to be considered a labor of love and not an investment.
