plugged catalytic converter 4.0 landrover

Default plugged catalytic converter 4.0 landrover


im looking to maybe purchase a mechanics special, 98 landrover discovery, says it was running fine, then start loosing power. says he had a few sensors replaced and still hasnt fixed, says idles all day long but wont go over 10 mph. says exhaust very hot ? not sure why he says this , .Do you guys know if this could easily be catalytic converter could be plugged, say this is 118,000 mile on odometer and auto transmission , is this probably what is wrong ?? thx for any advise.

Overheated exhaust could indicate the plugged cats. I would call landrover customer service and ask them what their emissions warranty is on that vehicle. Could be 10 year unlimited mileage. I cant say for sure. But worth a call.

Rover will not cover the cats. We sell them at a fair price and stock the gaskets and studs that tend to break as well. Just call the number below.
