Unhappy Radio Codes - RESOLVED

Guys,

First post, but second Jag ('98 XJ8 last time!)

I've just got hold of a 2007 S type with SAT NAV system, and for reasons that I'll post elsewhere I needed to disconnect the battery.

Not being a complete berk I researched the forums and it told me the >>, A.Mem, PTY and Eject & PTY to get the code trick, which all worked perfectly and I duly got an 8 digit code which came on the screen which I wrote down carefully, re-checking twice. Convinced I was good to do the deed I did so and on reconnection then got the expected PIN number request, however it only takes 4 numbers. Now My code started with 3 zero's and ended in a zero, and I've tried number of the permutations and I've been locked out for a hour a couple of times trying them all. Now the >>,AMEM, PTY combo don't work. What the hell am I doing wrong?

Jim

Welcome to the forum Jim,

I doubt you are doing anything wrong.

I've read many suggestions about button combinations to reveal the UK radio code but it's never worked for me since the XJ40 model. It certainly did not work on my X300, XJ8L or my current XK8.

Your Jaguar Dealer can supply the 4-digit code from the VIN with proof of ownership provided the unit is original. Several members have reported not being charged for this but some have been charged around £40.

When you get a minute, please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST section and post an intro about yourself and your vehicle. In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice on posting to the forum.

Jim,

Good to hear you got a prompt response and at no cost.

I've added 'RESOLVED' to your thread title to help others searching for information on this same issue in future.
