Hi there. Can anyone advise how easy it is to remove and replace a door on a 2000 xj8 x308 ? I have a nasty dent on the offside front door and rather than get it sprayed I have sourced an identically coloured one in good condition and it seems like a good idea simply to swap. My fear is alignment problems and also removal looks tricky as the trio of bolts on the respective hinge plates seem very hard to reach. Is it possible to simple undo the two bolts on the hinge itself and take it off without touching the hinge plates?
Will there be connection issues with the electric and locks ?

If anyone has had experience of this I am very grateful for advise.

G’day Otto,

I have an X305 and I’ve had my front door off once and all I did was disconnect the electrical connections and undo the door hinge bolts and the door lifted straight the door frame mountings.

As it was the same door I did not have any alignment problems but you might as you are replacing the whole door. I wouldn’t undo the hinge bracket bolts completely just loosen them a bit and move the door around until it fits properly and I would only loosen the bolts on the door itself.
