SDD question

Default SDD question

I have a 2011 XJ and used SDD in the past ( few years ago ) to connect to the car for troubleshooting and it worked. Just recently the car showed errors as parking aid is malfunctioning to call a dealer and rear camera not working along with on and off air bag light.
When trying to establish the connection a was unable as it says need to upgrade the version of it, not sure which one i have, as it is old.
I got a hold of a new SDD software ver 161, but when trying to connect it dosnt recognizes my car. I am using my old Mongose cable but is says along the lines of cable not connected. it wont auto detect or even if manually enter the vin, i still cant establish the connection.
The question is, can i still use my old cable or something newer is needed with the new software version? Or is it something else going on.
I will appreciate any input or feedback.

Make sure you have Wi-Fi turned off so it doesn’t try to connect search for new software. As for not seeing the mongoose read post number seven on this link below. You may have some bad contacts in your data link connector which is preventing the mongoose from connected to your serial data bus

Interesting. I will test the Mognoose cable tomorrow and check for any issues with the connection points on the OBD car side.
I didnt use the cable since the last time , which was long time ago, so i never suspected that it might be bad.

Great suggestion. Thank you
