Default Software update?

I have a 2015 XJL 3.0.....how do I find out what software version I'm running, and what map version?
And is buying the update from Jag to install vis a USB stick the only option? (Seems expensive!)
Do you guys recommend the updates? Is it worth it?

Hello Richard,
There is a lot of software in your XJL. It is a good idea to have the dealer check all systems/modules for updates.
If combined with simple service (oil change) it should be complementary.
Obviously, the latest software will provide the best performance.
Ask for a print out/summary of installed software.
Easy enough when reviewing for available updates.
Map updates are a great idea if you use navigation.
Ask the dealer for a quote and what year is available.

I purchased a 2014 XJL recently, and need to update the NAV system, however, the nearest dealer is a three hour drive from my home, so I'm wondering if anyone has a DIY solution to update my car?. maybe a DVD or online connection?. Thanks for any help you might offer. Bearly

Google is your friend and the best way to find information, often better than the search threads feature.

I recently purchased the USB stick 2020 update available from the link I just posted on your post. It's about 200 dollars US, and came very quickly in the mail. Unfortunately, 2020 is the latest they offer and will be the last available I believe from anyone. Good Luck.

I've removed your previous post with the LINK.

It could be perfectly innocent and well intentioned but I am inevitably suspicious when anyone registers and doesn't even add basic LOCATION and VEHICLE details. You are welcome to contact me by forum PM to discuss this further.

I'm unsure what forum rule I've violated, but I apologize for any discrepancy. I own a 2014 XJL and I'm in Northwest Ohio.
