Default Some Cold Weather Cheat Tips

Fellow Jaguar lovers:

I've developed a couple of techniques for dealing with the cold weather which may not be the school solution, but have worked for me.

1. After the engine gets a little heat in it, select the mode to be face vents only. De-select the A/C switch. Assuming your basic heater works you should get some heat. This has worked with my '96 XJ6 and my current '05 S-Type.

2. After the steering wheel and your hands have thawed out, then try the Auto mode.

3. Another alternative is to select the face and foot vent modes. For the XJ6's, recommend that you move the face vent temperature wheel all the way to hot. If it is in the middle position when you go to face and foot mode, you get cold air in your face.

Hope these help,

Mike

I'll have to try these tips and let you know if this pertains to the x-type. Usually I leave it on auto, a/c comes on automatically, and the temp is between 74 and 82 degrees - depending on how cold it is out there. I hate it when you ride with someone in a cold car and they have cold air blowing out of the vents and the car hasn't even warmed up. Kind of pointless, but there must be something psychological about it.
