Default Welding underframe

Hello.
Need some advice please. General welding repair.
I am ok welding body panels but need to weld the underframe on my Jaguar.
Being in UK this needs to meet the MOT criteria.
Its not the subframes but the supports that are attached to floor panels.

Can I remove rust and weld 3mm patches into frame (like panel repairs) or 3mm plates on top or do I need to replace whole box sections?
Advice please.

Pictures attached.

You should be able to get some sort of wire wheel and get down to good metal (that is going to be key for this). From there, you should be able to weld the panels in. Seeing that you have a 96, all of what you are dealing with is steel. So, that makes things a bit easier. The big thing that I would be recommending though is pulling out as many computers as possible. The magnetic field that is created as you weld can damage computers and would hate to see you create other problems trying to fix one problem.

Thank you Thermo.
I have gutted out the full inside including dash and ecu.
Protecting wiring etc left with fire blankets when welding.
Hopefully it all escapes unmelted.

Purchased 50mm x 3mm bars and angle iron to weld in place of rotten struts underneath.
will update on my progress.
