Mercedes-Benz drastically backtracks EV plans, will build gas cars well into 2030s

I saw this, they aren't the only ones rethinking the move to full electric power. Sales for EVs are increasing but at a slowing rate,, and the lack of charging infrastructure, battery issues, and the poor blend of ICE and electric tech have all been causes, along with the massive efforts by the petrochemical industry to block this effort. It'll be interesting to see where we are in 2030, electrics will be massively better, and given the car progress in China, massivley less expensive. My question is whether MB and others that pivot back will even be able to compete with the cars coming out of China, mostly electric, at that time. Even Tesla is struggling with this issue which doesn't bode well for the others who are less far along.

Yep I saw this as well, I'm on the waiting list for that car but I'm holding off pulling the trigger until this is resolved.
