2000 to 2001 style seat swap
Hey guys, Alex here.
So i've been messing around with my cat the past few days, modifying and maintaining a little bit.
I thought I would save idiots like me the trouble of this issue.
So I got my hands on some decent seats from a 2001 xkr, they are A LOT more comfortable than the previous style seats.
After having taken everything apart I realized the pigtail were different and in 2001 there are a few more wires (airbags, ect...) that you dont have on the previous models.
So I pulled up some handy dany wiring diagrams and went to work. I wanted to be sure not to ruin the seat modules so I decided it would be best to go through the wiring diagrams of both years and match up the pins to the functions I want the seats to have.
After about an hour and a half of trying to find the diagrams then running through and picking out the wires that give power to the functions I want (up, down, forwards, backwards and the back rest)
I then go out to the donor car, cut out the pigtails for the seats and then once I got back to my car I came to a startling discovery.
I am an idiot....
The colors for the functions are the same for both years and all I had to do was match up what I wanted and then wrap up the unused wires.
So just thought I'd save someone else the trouble by letting you know just match up the colors and all is well.
