Default Leather Care - Mild Soap?

I just read the posts on leather care, noticed that cleaning with "mild" soap and water was recommended followed by a conditioner (CONNOLLY HIDE FOOD). Since my S Type'sleatherisvery light beige/ivory color, I'll have to make sure it does not get too dirty. I plan on buying some Connolly's, butam not sure what is considered "mild" soap. What about Ivory dish detergent or saddle soap? If not these, would love some brand suggestions. Thanks

Get a proper leather cleaner so you know the PH balance is correct and it wont dry your leather out.
What you think is mild might be too harsh.
Dont risk it as proper leather cleaner isnt expensiveeg Meguires (cleaner and conditioner in one) or Gliptone (seperate cleaner and condtioner leaves leather smell).

Lexol soap works pretty well.

You may not even need soap, just a damp towl and elbow grease may be enough.
